The Blood of Olympus (The Heroes of Olympus, #5) by Rick Riordan

The Blood of Olympus (The Heroes of Olympus, #5) by Rick Riordan

I have been waiting for this book for so long, but I also do not want the series to end. Now that I have read it, I am sad that I have. I do not want this to be over, I am not ready to say good bye to Piper, Leo, Nico, Percy, Jason, Annabeth, Hazel and Frank. Even though I know a story has to end sometime, I still do not want it to be now. As they each continue on their quest, knowing that the world depends on them, everybody grows closer and realizes just how much they would lose if everything did not go according to plan. Of course the book was great with hilarious jokes from Leo and Percy, with wonderful moments of Percy and Jason using their powers and romantic gestures between Percy and Annabeth, I still want more. I wish for more time to get to know Nico and more of Percy’s jokes. As the book continued on, Nico as a character grew on me, I started to understand him as more then a moody teenager. I also wish for more of Percy’s perspective and a couple more scenes with Jason and Percy using their demigod powers. This might just be because I do not want the series to end, rather then it did not have enough of it. Despite everything that I want for this book, it is still really great. The ending on the other hand, I despise it. I do not like it one bit, I am still waiting for a conclusion. I do not think what was written as the ending to this book counts as a conclusion. There has to be more, I need closure and I will not accept what is there.
Now that I am reading this in High School and studying about the Greek and Roman gods, I am able to appreciate how much accurate mythology Rick Riordan is able to get into these books.
