Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth

Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth

So… I read this because Veronica Roth wrote it. I barely even stopped to look at the synopsis before devouring the book. I read this very fast and it was so nice to have a book where I just wanted to pick it up and read it. For a while I have been reading out of obligation, now it is finally out of, not obsession, but maybe greed (for the characters and story). At first I was not even sure how or what made it so interesting, it just was. But once I finished it I realized why, because the world that it created. I kept thinking about the world and the characters and now I am really sad for how long I have to wait for the next book to come out, because I have to wait for this book to come out and then wait some more for the sequel to come out. In this book Akos and Cyra are enemies, by birth, but due to unforeseen circumstances they find themselves together, and maybe even allies. Everything about this book was good, put together and engaging. I would highly recommend it to fans of Illuminae and Cinder. When (not if) you read it, make sure you have people to discuss it with, as there is a lot going on throughout. One last thing that is really great about the book is that even though the names are definitely not typical, they are not confusing or easy to mix up.
