Catch-22 by Joseph Heller

Catch-22 by Joseph Heller

Even though this is a book everybody knows of, nobody really knows what it is about. Even after reading it I am still not quiet sure what it is about, which is the point (nobody really knows what is happening during war). Yes it is about Yossarian who is reluctant to fly the increasing amount of missions, but it is also showing the chaos and the effects that war really has and what it really takes from you. It has these really great moments explaining that, but there are also a lot of moments that make you doubt humanity. How do people so stupid get such high positions? Overall it is a very good and accurate book of war even though I think that it could do with a lot less prostitution. But that is once again just showing the accuracy of soldier’s points of view. I would recommend this book if you are interested in war, but just know that it can be slow and hard to read at points. I give this book 3 stars because it had good stuff in it, but it was hard to get through (especially because there were parts that were not told in chronological order).
