Echo by Pam Muñoz Ryan

It has been a very long time sense I have read an entire book in one day, and this book broke that streak. It felt really great to read for so long, as well as it was super enjoyable because the book was so great. This book starts off with a story, and more stories are woven in together until it is revealed how they all fit together. I do not want to say to much about the individual stories as it would ruin the effect, but I can say that it starts off all the way back in World War II and moves through the different eras with each story. Each story was separate from the other save for one small detail that connects it all together. It is only in the end the reader gets to see the full circle. The characters became my friends very fast and I was sadden to have to say good bye to them each time I finished their story. One thing that is pervasive throughout the book is music. It is shows up in every aspect and everything in the novel is very musical. I very much enjoyed reading it and it made me want to pick up my trumpet and start practicing.
