Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay by J.K. Rowling

Some people say that a book is like a movie in your head, well this definitely is. As it was written in a screenplay format, it was able to really capture the essence of the movie. It was a little strange to be reading something that went directly to movie to book instead of book to movie. But as the movie was able to capture he essence of the Wizarding World, I did not have issues with that. This was a very fast read, and I felt that I was able to pick up on a few more connections than I had when I merely watched the movie, just because for this screenplay, I was able to slow it down and analyze some of the passages. Overall I would recommend this book as a way to “re-watch” the movie. I do not think it would be good as a standalone due to the characters quirkiness being shown instead of written onto the page (which is something that I think a lot of people had trouble with when reading The Cursed Child).
