The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forester

The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forester

I remember loving this book when I was in 5th grade. That was a long time ago, so the details were fuzzy, but I still remembered that I loved it. So I decided to read it again. I really enjoyed reading it this time and it was really nice to read something so familiar. It had a lot of meaning that I think I missed when I was younger, but I still got a lot out of it then. That just goes to show how much meaning there is in this book. One thing that I really like about this book is it’s great message about acceptance and staying true to yourself. In this book, Piper can fly, and that is normal to her. She loves to fly, but her parents do not know what to do about it. So when Dr. Hellion comes and says she has a school for people with special abilities just like Piper, Piper is happy to go. But once she gets to school, many challenges lie in her path. Not just about her ability but with the people she is involved with. I think this is a great book if you are looking for a story about acceptance, it could be for a 5th grader to a high schooler. I gave it four stars because I felt like it was missing the descriptions of the people and places in the book, otherwise it was really good.
