Hamlet by William Shakespeare

Hamlet by William Shakespeare

It has been a couple of weeks since I finished Hamlet. I read it for school and at first was not a huge fan, but it was only after I finished it that I was able to truly appreciate it. One of the reasons that I waited so long to write this review is because this is the type of book that needs to be processed and thought about. At first it seemed like another boring play, but as I pored deeper into not only the story but depth and significance behind every word it became a lot more fun to read. We even had a theatre group come and perform the play for the school, this is when Hamlet really clicked for me. At first I was confused on how people are able to act, putting on such a fake demeanor and making oneself seem vulnerable in front of so many people. But then I realized, when reading Hamlet,  Hamlet had this same question, I realized how relatable the play still is. I found it to be enjoyable to read as a whole play as well as it is fun finding specific scenes and moments to pore over and analyze. This is a great piece of literature that I highly recommend, but I would also recommend reading it with other people as there is a lot to discuss and as I am sure there was a lot I missed, without discussing it a lot would have gone over my head.
