The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle #1) by Maggie Stiefvater

The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle #1) by Maggie Stiefvater

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater is about Blue Sargent, a spunky teenager with a foreboding prophecy about her true love. Blue’s mother is a physic and so is all her friends and family, the weird thing is that Blue isn’t, she just magnify’s the energy where ever she goes. Ever since she was little Blue’s mother and all her physic friends have told her that Blue will kill her true love with a kiss. Blue decided that she doesn’t have to worry about it because she just will not kiss anyone. Blue goes with Neeve (her mothers sister who just came into town) to an old church on St. Mark’s Eve to see who will die in the coming year, Blue hasn’t ever seen anything but this year she sees a boy, the only reason someone who doesn’t have the sight sees someone is that they will either kill them or they are their true love. But the boy she saw was an Aligonby, or Raven, boy and Blue doesn’t know any Raven boys and despises them. So what does that mean? This book had a slow start and I liked how it came together in the end. But the ending was good but, not satisfactory. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes unexpected friendships and supernatural books.
