Tiger’s Curse (The Tiger Saga, #1) by Colleen Houck

Tiger’s Curse (The Tiger Saga, #1) by Colleen Houck

With much urging from my sister, I decided to read this book. She told me that she thought that they are really great and the ending was unpredictable. Well, that is not what I got from it. I am not a fan. The book started out strong with a poem from William Blake, but from there it was all downhill. The writing made it so that I never really got a clear picture of what was happening, only what the person was thinking. The main character, Kelsey, she was not what I wanted her to be. To me, I wanted her to curious, assertive and decisive. There were times that she was doing that, but it overall just came across that she wanted to sleep and shower. That is not what I want to read about. Then there was Ren, the main love interest, he seemed like this really nice, educated, well mannered guy that was used to getting his way. But he was also a little bit creepily possessive. This did not make a good combination to read about. I found it slow at times and everything came to easily for the characters. Everything just fell into place, that made it even more frustrating because then by doing nothing they were actually succeeding. I personally do not like when that happens, but I am also a very independent and assertive person. As a whole this book was written to be a better version of Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. But I would argue that I liked Twilight more. They were frustrating and bad in the same way, but there was something about Twilight that compelled me to continue reading when there was none of that for this book. I am giving this book two stars because it did have a good story concept and at times it could be funny. Maybe this book is for another person than me, I know that in the past I have not liked romances.
