Unbroken Book vs. Movie

Unbroken Book vs. Movie

Unbroken is an amazing book and so I was wondering what they were going to do with the movie, it is a good story but it is a hard story to tell. I loved the book and was hoping that the movie would be just as good, but it was not what I was expecting. It was not bad, just not what I wanted it to be and I left the movie theatre feeling a little disappointed. They did a pretty good job with it overall, although they did leave some things out from the book. For example Louie went to four camps in Japan and in the movie he only goes to three. But I understand why they had to cut out some things, if not it would be a 4 hour movie. I think they also did a pretty good job portraying the ideas and resilience that is shown in the book. Also the book is very linear, while the movie jumps back and forth through time. This gives a different feeling and understanding to what Louie had to go through. I would recommend this movie to anyone who has read the book and anyone who is interested in World War II. I would highly recommend reading this book before seeing the movie, because the book gives a lot more context to what is happening, the movie can only show so much. I really enjoyed reading the book and watching the movie.
