Winter’s Tale Book vs. Movie

Winter’s Tale Book vs. Movie

Winter’s Tale by Mark Helprin is one of my all time favorite books. It is about a man named Peter Lake and what he learns about the world, and how he applies it. When I heard that they were going to make the book into a movie I wondered how they were going to do that because it is very abstract and complex, that there was no way they could fit 748 pages into a 2 hour movie. And they didn’t. The movie was almost nothing like the book, it had the same characters and the simplest version of the plot. That is where the similarities end, they cut out a lot of characters and then changed the point of the movie, what Peter Lake is working towards. The ending was not similar to the book. Other than the fact that they changed the point of the story it was a good movie.
